Bangalore – A Photo Diary of Cubbon Park

Oh, Bangalore. Complicated city, you. Most cities I visit have very clear structures. They will have historical centres, which are nice to visit but way too expensive to stay at. They will have new and modern districts, which don’t have any sights but are cool and inexpensive to base yourself. At a first glance, Bangalore didn’t seem to have any of that.

When I plan a trip, I do a few things. I look at guidebooks to see what sights are worth visiting. There aren’t many that really peaked my interest in Bangalore, which means that it is a city to be experienced. So, I started exploring Booking to find a hotel in a nice location for the one night I would have. This was a daunting activity, I included the city map I was looking at to show you how scattered the hotels are in the city.

Therefore, this tactic wouldn’t be of any help either.

This is where the travel blogger/vlogger community comes in handy. I reached out to Ivana of Travel Vlog IV, who knows India and specifically Bangalore really well. She advised me to stay near Cubbon Park. I trust the travel community, so I found the cute ibis Bengaluru City Centre hotel and stayed there for one night to explore the park the next day.

I’m going to keep this blog post short, because I spent the day mostly walking through the park and the neighbouring area surrounding UB City Mall. I’ll let the photos do most the talking.

Conclusion

I like Bangalore’s vibes. I didn’t stay in the city long enough to get a real feel, but I liked exploring the park and its surrounding areas. I know people either hate or love India. I feel nothing but love for this country. The cities I have explored so far have always peaked my interest to visit more. This was my third trip to India, and I’m sure I’ll be back for more.
